Arizona Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Private Practice Opportunity

Full-time
Salary: Negotiable
Application Deadline: N/A
Health Services

Ophthalmic Surgeons & Physicians (OS&P) is a busy four MD and two OD ophthalmology practice in Tempe, Arizona, looking for a second ASOPRS fellowship trained orbit and oculofacial plastic surgeon to join the practice as a possible future partner. We have three locations in Tempe, Phoenix, and Sun Lakes, Arizona.

OS&P is a private practice with two comprehensive ophthalmologists, and two fellowship trained ophthalmologists in the following subspecialties: Glaucoma, and Orbit & Oculofacial plastic surgery. Our optometrists are well trained in medical optometry. We are privately owned and not looking to be purchased by a private equity group. The Phoenix area continues to be one of the fastest growing areas in the United States with many people moving here on a daily basis. The patient needs far exceed the number of physicians actively working.

Our current orbit and oculofacial plastic surgeon, Lisa Mansueto MD, has been at OS&P since 1999 when she finished her ASOPRS fellowship. She is very busy, working five days a week providing all aspects of orbit and oculofacial plastic surgery, both cosmetic and functional. There is a large referral base of both adults and children for medical and cosmetic procedures not only from Arizona but from the neighboring states of New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah. She is also a clinical instructor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Mayo Clinic Arizona, teaching their residents eyelid and orbit procedures. Dr. Mansueto is currently the only orbit and oculofacial plastic surgeon at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a large tertiary care facility for the southwestern United States. She is part of the Cleft & Craniofacial Plastic Surgery Team at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, taking part in the multidisciplinary management of children with facial deformities. The new physician will be an integral part of the private practice and, if interested, can take part in any of the other facets of Dr. Mansueto’s practice.

Dr. Mansueto is booked out 4-5 months for new patient consultations and surgeries. We want to cut this wait time in half and need another surgeon to be able to do this. There is a great need in the practice for a motivated, hard working physician who wants to join Dr. Mansueto in providing all aspects of orbit and oculofacial plastic surgery care for adults and, only if interested, also children. If not experienced in managing children but interested in learning, Dr. Mansueto is well versed in teaching and is willing to assist a new surgeon in expanding her/his care of pediatric patients, but this is not mandatory.
