Duke Eye Center is seeking an ocular oncologist who will work closely and collaboratively with our dedicated team of physicians, staff, and trainees. The successful candidate will join a practice with one other ocular oncology specialist and have the support of our Duke Cancer Institute, Duke Radiation Oncology Department, and other nationally recognized treatment facilities. The division offers specialized, full-time care for both children and adults battling benign and malignant eye tumors. A physician with experience is preferred, however, we also welcome the inquiries of fellows. Salary and faculty rank will be commensurate with training and experience. 

Program highlights include:

  • Established after more than two decades of providing exceptional eye cancer treatment at Duke, Duke is a primary treatment center for the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond
  • One of only two treatment centers in the U.S. certified to use the innovative high dose-rate (HDR) Yttrium-90 (Y-90) brachytherapy procedure
  • The division hosts a thriving training program, including a one-year Ophthalmic Oncology Fellowship

We are looking for someone who will seamlessly integrate into our supportive environment and contribute to our ongoing success and growth. This position includes 80% FTE dedicated to clinical work and 20% FTE dedicated to academic work.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Completed an ACGME-accredited ophthalmology residency
  • Completed an AUPO-accredited ocular oncology fellowship
  • Board certification (current or within the first year of hire) is preferred but not required
